Last Time Out: The Phillies are back at home and have re-taken first place in the NL East thanks to winning two of three in Atlanta. San Diego lost the series in Cincinnati on Sunday after a walk-off. Philadelphia took five out of the six games these two contested last year.
Game Notes: Kyle Schwarber has a .947 OPS at home this year with 12 home runs … Zack Wheeler has a 2.39 ERA at home with a 0.84 WHIP … Gavin Sheets has a .968 OPS in his last six games … Manny Machado is slugging .509 on the road this year … Nick Pivetta has a 2.89 ERA in his last three starts with 22 SOs … Phillies have the 2nd best home batting average and OBP this year … Padres pitching has the best BAA this year in NL (.229)

⚾️ St. Louis Cardinals vs. Pittsburgh Pirates – [6:40 ET]

Last Time Out: The Cardinals swept the Pirates in St. Louis when these two teams meet at the beginning of May. To everyone’s surprise: these two teams come in on winning streaks! The Cardinals just swept the Guardians in Cleveland and the Pirates swept the Mets and had the infamous “players only meeting” after the fact.
Game Notes: Pirates have NL’s 2nd-highest K% this season (23.6) … They also rank in the bottom three in batting average (.234), OBP (.307), and last in slugging (.344) … The Pirates pitching staff ranks first in ERA (3.32) and WHIP (1.10) over the last 30 days … Cardinals pitching have given up the second fewest walks in NL this year … Bryan Reynolds has an OPS of 1.148 over the last six games … Oneil Cruz has a .842 OPS at home this season … Paul Skenes has the best ERA in NL (2.12) and WHIP (0.91)

Last Time Out: The A’s lost two out three on the road to the Yankees. The Rays lost a high-scoring series to the Orioles on the road. Tampa Bay took two out of three in Oakland last time these two meet in 2024. Rays are 1.5 GB of the Yankees for first place in AL East.

⚾️ Baltimore Orioles vs. Texas Rangers – [8:05 ET]

Last Time Out: The Orioles took a crazy series at home vs. the Rays as they hope to fast-track their season. The Rangers lost their home series vs. the Mariners and are now 41-43. Texas took two out of three in Baltimore last year when these two teams meet.
Game Notes: Ryan O’Hearn has a .840 OPS on the road this season … Colton Cowser and Ramon Laureano both have OPS over .900 the past two weeks … Corey Seager has a OPS of .913 with four home runs in his last 11 games … Josh Smith has an OPS of .960 at home this year … Rangers have the league’s best home ERA (2.70) and AL’s best home WHIP (1.10) … Baltimore has the AL’s 2nd worst ERA over the last two weeks (5.29)

Last Time Out: The Royals lost at home this weekend to the Dodgers, but saw the offense come to life a bit. The Mariners took two out of three in Arlington against their division rivals. Seattle lost two out of three in Kansas City the last time these two meet.
Game Notes: Maikel Garcia and Bobby Witt each have OPS over .900 on the road this year … Vinnie Pasquantino has eight home runs in 39 road games … Cal Raleigh has an OPS of .972 at home … Royals have the AL’s best road ERA this season (3.49) … Mariners have the league’s worst team batting average at home (.221) … Kansas City has the lowest strikeout total on the road this year (288)

⚾️ San Francisco Giants vs. Arizona Diamondbacks – [9:40 ET]

Last Time Out: Arizona won two out of three earlier this season in the Bay Area. The Diamondbacks just got swept at home by one of the hottest teams of late: Miami Marlins. The Giants salvaged their set in Chicago by taking two of three vs. the White Sox.
