Check out below for a few player notes on today’s early games and I will be back with the main slate later - thank you and BOL!

Three Players to Watch

  • Kyle Freeland (SP, COL)

    • Notes: Freeland is 1-0 with a 1.93 career ERA in two starts in Loan Depot Park. I always like seeing how Rockies pitchers do away from Denver and the altitude. Freeland has managed a lower WHIP and ERA for his career away from Coors Field. The Rockies starter is 3-0 with a 3.48 ERA vs. Miami in his career.

  • Tyler Stephenson (C, CIN)

    • Notes: Stephenson has a 1.166 OPS and a home run vs. DL Hall in his career. He is hitting .320 over the past week with three home runs. Stephenson had a delayed start to season due to an oblique injury, but looks strong and comfortable at the plate now and was shown off on his opposite field home run last night.

  • Taylor Ward (OF, LAA)

    • Notes: Ward has two career HRs off of Red Sox’ starter Lucas Giolito who has been up and down this year. Giolito throws his fastball about half the time and has given up a .345 batting average against. Ward has been crushing fastballs this season, having an xBA of .292.
